The Engineering Manager for HADR at Stripe will lead a team focused on data-serving infrastructure, which includes data warehouse analytics, streaming analytics, and search capabilities. This role involves solving complex distributed systems problems and fostering partnerships with other teams to enhance capabilities. The manager will support the engineering team in achieving high technical quality and reliability while also being responsible for recruiting and developing engineers. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the long-term Data Serving strategy at Stripe.

• At least 3 years of experience managing teams that shipped and operated critical distributed system infrastructure.
• Successfully recruited and built great teams.
• Works effectively cross-functionally and is able to think rigorously, communicate effectively, and make or coordinate hard decisions and trade-offs.
• Thrives with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility in an ambiguous environment.
• Technical acumen to drive clarity with staff engineers about architecture and technical strategic decisions.

• Work on a high-visibility team and be part of shaping the long-term Data Serving strategy at Stripe.
• Work with engineers and other leaders at Stripe to understand opportunities to better leverage Apache Pinot at scale.
• Support the engineering team in achieving a high level of technical quality, reliability, and ease of use.
• Lead and manage processes to help the team do its best work and engage effectively with the rest of Stripe.
• Recruit great engineers, in collaboration with Stripe's recruiting team.
• Develop engineers on the team, helping them advance in their careers.
• Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Stripe's engineering management team.
