As a Fleet Remediation Project Design Mechanical Engineer at Amazon, you will lead design projects in operational data centers to address issues, upgrade infrastructure, and add new services. You will serve as the primary engineering resource, providing lifecycle support from design through implementation. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure consistency and reliability in services delivered while focusing on safety and sustainability. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- NETA or ASHRAE certification or commissioning specific education courses
- Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
- Experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers
- 1+ year of design experience with industrial or commercial engineering in Mission Critical facilities
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
Responsibilities
- Own the design for existing data center upgrades and design solutions that improve capacity and sustainability.
- Perform design and equipment submittal review for Data Centers in your region.
- Interface with internal and external teams to promote standards for consistency and reliability.
- Act as a technical subject matter expert during new remediation projects.
- Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover of projects.
- Prepare and present progress reports to relevant stakeholders.
- Manage design and as-built drawings and documents.
