The CPU Design Timing Engineer role at Apple involves working within the Silicon Engineering Group to ensure timing closure for CPU projects. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and over 10 years of industry experience
- Experience with timing for designs operating at 1 GHz or higher
- Proficiency in static timing tools such as Primetime or Tempus
- Knowledge of cross talk, noise, OCV, uncertainty, and derate methodology
- Experience in script writing and debugging in languages like TCL, Perl, or Python
- Understanding of CPU microarchitecture and low power implementation techniques
- Familiarity with physical design tools and methodologies
Responsibilities
- Develop the timing flow in collaboration with the CAD team to improve analysis and efficiency
- Drive timing closure for the CPU by working closely with CPU micro-architects and implementation engineers
