Job description

The Performance Architect role at Apple involves contributing to the characterization and optimization of future Apple Silicon platforms. The System Performance Architecture team focuses on performance across hardware and software, including CPU, GPU, and storage. This position requires a multi-disciplinary approach, analyzing complex workloads and identifying architectural bottlenecks. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively to enhance product performance, power, and thermal efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Computer Architecture, performance analysis, or hardware modeling.
  • Understanding of CPU/GPU/NPU microarchitecture concepts.
  • Experience in performance analysis and modeling.
  • Expert in Python scripting and C++ coding skills.
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with workload characterization tools.
  • Experience with GPU APIs such as OpenGL, OpenCL, DirectX, and Metal.
  • Expertise in one or more focused areas like CPU/GPU, System Architecture, or Compiler/SW Stack.
  • Exposure to modeling in constrained environments.

Responsibilities
