Job description

The Motion Sensing Hardware Team at Apple focuses on integrating advanced motion sensing technologies into various products. This role involves defining, developing, characterizing, and validating motion sensing systems. Team members work collaboratively to foster creativity and engineering excellence while supporting innovation and patent creation. The position requires strong analytical and communication skills to troubleshoot engineering issues and align efforts across teams.

Requirements

  • BS in a related discipline and a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in motion sensors including magnetic, inertial, and pressure technologies.
  • PhD in physics or engineering related fields or MS with 2+ years of hands-on experience.
  • Strong fundamentals in sensors and experience integrating sensors into products.
  • Proficiency in instrumentation/modeling/analysis scripting languages like Matlab or Python.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Define sensing system metrics and develop measurement methods.
  • Integrate state-of-the-art motion sensors into various Apple products.
  • Characterize and validate motion sensing systems from concept through manufacturing.
  • Engage with suppliers to troubleshoot complex engineering issues.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure system performance meets feature requirements.
