Job description

The Multi-Physics Simulation and Test Engineer role at Google focuses on developing custom silicon solutions for XR devices. The team is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technology, integrating AI with XR to enhance user experiences. This position involves building simulations for acoustics, optics, and dynamics to validate hardware performance before production. The engineer will also define testing systems and data analysis pipelines to ensure the calibration and verification of devices throughout their lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field.
  • 4 years of experience working in a physics-based simulation technical environment.
  • Experience with physical simulation, testing, and verification, including multi-physics testing for acoustics, optics, or dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver end-to-end multi-physics simulation tools for design, calibration, and performance verification.
  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve issues across device types in both hardware and software layers.
  • Simulate and measure the physical response of key device components to ensure their integrated functionality in XR user experiences.
  • Drive the development of virtual and physical calibration and verification platforms for next-generation XR devices.
