Job description
The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer for Thermals at Google will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of thermal hardware solutions. This role involves collaborating with various teams, including hardware design and manufacturing, to implement best practices throughout the product lifecycle. The engineer will lead supplier quality initiatives and drive continuous improvements while managing component quality and reliability. This position is crucial for developing custom silicon solutions that enhance Google's consumer products.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a thermal-related equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in thermal technology and manufacturing processes.
- 10 years of experience in quality/reliability and thermal technology.
- Experience in statistical product quality control, process capability, reliability, failure analysis, and process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with hardware design, manufacturing, supply chain, and operations teams to develop and deploy Supplier Quality Engineering best practices throughout the product life-cycle.
- Influence product roadmaps and architectural decisions by providing data-driven insights on hardware quality and reliability.
- Represent Supplier Quality Engineering in executive reviews and cross-functional forums.
- Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers to ensure quality and reliability.
- Establish quality programs and process controls in suppliers for early issue detection.
