The Software Engineer Manager II for Google Workspace will lead a team of software engineers, focusing on optimizing code and managing project goals. This role requires both technical expertise and leadership skills to guide engineers across multiple teams and locations. The manager will contribute to product strategy and ensure the team's roadmap aligns with larger goals for Google Meet and Workspace. The position also emphasizes career development for team members and the adoption of new practices in software development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 3 years of experience with full stack development, including back-end languages such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ and front-end technologies like JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
- 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
Responsibilities
- Manage software engineers across Growth and Mobile teams.
- Collaborate with Product and UX teams to identify new use cases.
- Design new product features to serve small business use cases.
- Ensure the team's roadmap aligns with the larger outlook for Meet and Workspace.
- Invest in team members' career development and promote the adoption of new DevAI practices.
