Job description

The Vice President of Software Engineering at Goldman Sachs will be responsible for developing and maintaining the firm's software solutions to support global business operations. This role involves designing high-quality technology solutions and working through all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle. The position requires collaboration with internal teams and the identification of innovative external technologies. Additionally, the role includes mentoring junior team members and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Four years of experience in the job offered or a related role.
  • Experience with C++ or Java.
  • Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, documentation, deployment, and production support.
  • Experience building multi-threaded and multi-process service-oriented enterprise applications within a Unix environment.
  • Familiarity with relational database management systems such as Sybase or Oracle.
  • Experience in micro-services architecture design and development including REST, Spring, or other back-end technologies.
  • Proficiency in database query languages, including SQL or NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB.

  • Design and implement high-quality, scalable technology solutions.
  • Own requirements gathering, user story refinement, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Work with internal teams to develop solution designs.
  • Identify new external technologies to transform financial businesses and internal platforms.
  • Work in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle to meet requirements.
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust testing suites.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior team members.
