The Senior Energy Markets Program Manager will join Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation Energy Team, focusing on sourcing and negotiating energy projects to support datacenter growth. This role involves managing power interconnection and energy supply agreements while evaluating energy markets and tariffs. The candidate will work cross-functionally with various stakeholders to provide financial analytics and recommendations. The position primarily supports data center energy markets in the Americas.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 3+ years experience in relevant roles OR Bachelor's degree in the same fields AND 4+ years experience OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- Verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead datacenter interconnection and energy supply contract development with utilities and third-party energy suppliers.
- Analyze energy industry trends, market policy, and regulations to identify opportunities for cost reduction and sustainability.
- Develop and execute regulatory engagement strategies with utilities and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with external vendors and consultants on regional market research.
- Manage and develop internal business cases, including financial models and market research.
- Build relationships with external suppliers, electric utilities, regulatory agencies, and energy technology providers.
