Job description
Arcadis is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer to join their construction management team in the NYC and Lower Hudson Valley Region. The role requires over 10 years of experience in municipal infrastructure and water treatment facilities. The Senior Resident Engineer will oversee day-to-day construction activities and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This position plays a critical role in managing capital improvement projects and liaising between design staff and contractors.
Requirements
- 10 years of experience as a Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent work experience.
- Professional Engineer license in New York.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day construction oversight and Resident Engineering Inspection efforts.
- Act as a liaison to design staff for responses to Contractor RFI's and review of shop drawings.
- Review construction plans, specifications, and project changes for constructability and practicality.
- Manage the Construction Management field office staff responsible for record keeping and processing of payments.
- Ensure delivery of daily inspection reports in accordance with clients’ requirements.
- Monitor contractor performance, schedule compliance, and overall responsiveness.
- Manage the contractor payment process and recommend adjustments based on work completed.
