Job description

The Data Scientist role within Apple Ads focuses on leveraging data to influence product strategy, business performance, and advertiser outcomes. The Data Insights organization collaborates with various teams to tackle complex challenges using data analysis, experimentation, and machine learning. Candidates will work on high-impact problems across multiple domains, including product insights, business metrics, predictive modeling, and advertiser research. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in Data Science, Analytics, Machine Learning, Quantitative Research, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large-scale, complex datasets.
  • Strong Python programming skills and experience with common analytical libraries.
  • Strong foundation in statistics, experimentation, causal inference, and analytical problem solving.
  • Experience developing statistical, machine learning, econometric, forecasting, or optimization models to solve business problems.
  • Experience translating analytical findings into business recommendations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

  • Define measurement frameworks and design experiments to evaluate product and advertiser outcomes.
  • Own key business metrics and identify drivers of business performance.
  • Build scalable analytical frameworks and automation solutions to improve decision-making.
  • Develop forecasting, machine learning, and optimization models to enhance business performance.
  • Apply statistical and econometric techniques to understand marketplace behavior and advertising effectiveness.
  • Translate model outputs into scalable business impact.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Sales, Finance, and leadership teams to drive business outcomes.
