Job description
NVIDIA's LPU team is seeking a Hardware Engineering Lab Manager to oversee the operations of engineering labs supporting Datacenter products in Hillsboro, OR. This role involves managing inventory, ensuring lab safety, and organizing equipment across multiple labs. The manager will work closely with a collaborative team to maintain compliance with safety and quality standards while supporting engineering needs. The position requires a disciplined approach to hardware management and the ability to lift heavy components.
Requirements
- Diploma/Certification, Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience leading an electronic or testing lab.
- Ability to perform basic surface mount rework.
- Familiarity with networking protocols and hands-on experience with updating network addressing.
- Experience operating electrical and non-electrical laboratory equipment and handling potentially dangerous substances.
- Proficiency with MS Office and database tools.
- Ability to work independently to complete daily tasks and priorities.
Responsibilities
- Work with a small team to cover all day-to-day engineering lab and datacenter activities.
- Operate and maintain engineering equipment maintenance and calibration.
- Provide guidance on safety, regulatory, and quality requirements for lab compliance.
- Establish and maintain safety training programs for lab access.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to implement future lab requirements.
- Lead tasks around lab organization, equipment installation, and general maintenance.
- Manage lab inventory and equipment allocation, including asset tracking.
- Forecast and procure materials for engineering needs and inventory control.
- Support the procurement team with shipping and receiving.
