·FY 2025Job description
NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Silicon Power and Thermal Controllers Engineer to join its Silicon Co-Design Group. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and productizing power-performance and thermal-control mechanisms for GPUs, CPUs, and SoCs. The engineer will work at the intersection of silicon, firmware, platform, and software, ensuring optimal performance within thermal and power constraints. The position requires collaboration with various teams to bring innovative solutions to market across multiple sectors.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience implementing power and thermal controllers in firmware for GPU, CPU, or SoC products.
- Hands-on experience with system-level silicon bring-up and validation, DVFS, power characterization and modeling, performance analysis, and perf-per-watt optimization.
- Solid understanding of digital design, circuit analysis, CPU/GPU/SoC architecture, advanced process technologies, and transistor/device physics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and tune silicon power and thermal controllers in partnership with firmware, hardware, software, and design teams.
- Drive debug and resolution of power-limiting constraints to unlock performance without compromising thermal envelopes.
- Deliver system-level power optimizations across silicon, platform, software, and manufacturing.
- Validate silicon power and thermal features across multi-functional teams from bring-up through production.
- Translate complex power, thermal, and performance signals into decision-ready options for leadership.
Benefits
- Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
