Job description
The Data Center Engineer, Modular Structures role at Google focuses on the development and implementation of modular and prefabricated structures for hyper-scale data centers. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- 3 years of experience auditing, interpreting, and validating structural calculations, site plans, and geotechnical reports.
- 3 years of experience with engineering code interpretation and structural analysis software.
- 3 years of experience in structural design for industrial projects and designing modular and prefabricated structures.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical lead for structural scopes, evaluating and approving drawings, calculations, and models for accuracy and constructability.
- Drive interdisciplinary coordination with civil, mechanical, electrical, systems, and other discipline teams to integrate modular and prefabrication requirements.
- Partner with manufacturing teams, vendors, and consultants to ensure modular components are built to strict quality standards.
- Develop, maintain, and implement internal owner design guidelines and performance specifications across multiple data center development initiatives.
