Job description
The Wastewater Treatment Engineer role at Jacobs involves working on wastewater treatment projects in Hawaii and the broader Pacific region. The engineer will join a team of wastewater engineers and designers to tackle complex technical challenges. This position emphasizes innovative solutions and collaboration within a hybrid work environment. The focus will be on both treatment and process mechanical engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive process mechanical engineering and project delivery experience with water, wastewater, and/or industrial treatment.
- Strong interest in treatment and/or mechanical system design and operation.
- Proficient skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Responsibilities
- Evaluate treatment and process options to determine the best approaches to solve client challenges.
- Understand and communicate complex problems and solutions with clients.
- Design and implement pilot scale treatment systems.
- Plan and design full-scale treatment systems and treatment plant improvements for construction.
- Develop facility layouts and process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Write technical reports and support bidding and permitting services.
- Provide construction services support and conduct field inspections of treatment/mechanical equipment.
