Job description

Mechatronics Systems Design Engineers at KLA are integral to the development of metrology equipment for the semiconductor industry. This role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to address complex engineering challenges. Candidates will engage in hands-on work and collaborate closely with customer support to meet demanding requirements.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree with 3 years of related work experience, Master's degree with 6 years, or Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related work experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of precision machine design.
  • Good understanding of feedback control system design and signal processing.
  • Experience with experimental design and hardware-in-the-loop experimentation.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently on data collection, analysis, calibration, and writing scripts using Python or Matlab.
  • Perform hands-on work with hardware and gather necessary data in the lab or cleanroom.
  • Define plans for system integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate closely with the customer support organization.
  • Travel to customer sites as needed, less than 10% of the time.
