Job description

The role is for a highly experienced technical leader focused on building and delivering core capabilities within Fidelity’s Enterprise Observability Platform. This position involves owning system architecture, observability, security, and delivery while collaborating with product owners and engineering teams. The ideal candidate will lead the design and implementation of scalable distributed systems and services. This role requires a strong understanding of distributed systems and hands-on experience with AWS services.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of distributed systems fundamentals including consensus, partitioning, and fault tolerance.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and operating highly available and scalable production systems.
  • Deep knowledge of observability concepts such as metrics, tracing, and logging formats.
  • Experience with AWS native services and building solutions using them.
  • Hands-on coding experience in at least one major programming language like Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement highly scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems and services.
  • Lead the architecture and build of high-throughput data streaming pipelines.
  • Develop and own observability for systems including metrics, tracing, and dashboards.
  • Implement application instrumentation and collaborate with platform teams on telemetry practices.
  • Drive projects end-to-end by translating product requirements and creating execution plans.
