Job description

The role is part of the Data Platform Engineering Portfolio at Boston Consulting Group, focusing on transforming the organization into a data-driven, AI-enabled enterprise. The team is responsible for building and operating foundational infrastructure and cloud platforms, primarily on AWS. This hands-on individual contributor position emphasizes technical leadership, platform standardization, and improving reliability. The role also involves collaborating with various teams to deliver integrated solutions and support emerging use cases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in database, platform, or infrastructure engineering
  • Strong experience designing and operating cloud-native platforms, preferably AWS
  • Hands-on expertise with modern database technologies, including document, search, or graph platforms
  • Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid understanding of cloud security and data protection best practices

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver cloud-native database platforms focusing on scalability and resilience
  • Build automated, self-service capabilities using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD workflows
  • Define and implement reusable platform patterns, standards, and guardrails
  • Embed SRE principles including observability and incident response into platform operations
  • Partner with architecture, application, and data teams to deliver integrated solutions
  • Evaluate new technologies and lead proof-of-concepts to support emerging use cases
