JobsElectromagnetic Computation Engineer
Job description
Tesla is looking for a motivated engineer to enhance its electromagnetic computational capabilities, focusing on developing accelerated computation software and hardware for motor research. The role involves system optimization strategies and workflows critical for current and future products.
Requirements
- Degree in Computational Engineering or a related field, or equivalent industry experience and evidence of exceptional ability
- Experience developing optimization algorithms and workflows
- Good physical understanding of electrical machines and power electronics
- Strong programming skills
Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, and scale high-performance computational tools including: MPI+CUDA PDE solvers for electromagnetic analysis; domain decomposition schemes and algebraic multigrid methods; and time domain simulation frameworks
- Build and train surrogate models and neural operators (PINN, FNO, DeepONet) to accelerate simulation and optimization workflows of electromagnetic system
- Develop multi-physics simulation strategies for real world operation conditions considering devices uncertainties and nonlinearities
Benefits
- Employees at Tesla are often offered day-one coverage with multiple medical options (some at $0 paycheck cost), dental/vision, company HSA contributions, a 401(k) match, and equity programs.
