Job description

Tesla is looking for a Systems Engineer to design, deploy, and improve intelligent automation systems in manufacturing. The role involves working with software, hardware, and data to create supervisory applications, AGV/AMR platforms, and vision-based inspection systems, directly impacting factory performance.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 3+ years of professional experience in automation, systems, or controls/equipment engineering on electromechanical systems
  • Proven experience building and deploying Ignition Perspective module SCADA / HMI applications
  • Hands-on experience with AGV / AMR commissioning and fleet management
  • Demonstrated ability to train and deploy YOLO-based computer vision models
  • Familiarity with ASRS and conveyor control architectures
  • Experience with Linux server administration and shell scripting
  • Rigorous software development practices including Git and CI/CD
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with vision system hardware and integration of camera feeds

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop full-stack HMI / SCADA applications for supervisory control and real-time data visualization
  • Lead AGV / AMR system integration, commissioning, and lifecycle support
  • Design and deploy vision-based inspection and perception pipelines
  • Build and maintain containerized microservices to host SCADA servers and data pipelines
  • Develop organized, well-documented full-stack web applications
  • Create and maintain SQL databases and reporting infrastructure
  • Define and enforce software engineering best practices
  • Lead system design reviews and serve as the technical liaison
  • Establish test plans, risk assessments, and validation protocols
  • Develop training programs and technical documentation for operators
