The Lead Software Engineer at Parametric is responsible for providing technical leadership and project management within the Core Operations Platform. This role focuses on the Performance Reporting engine, which calculates and delivers portfolio performance metrics across the firm. The Lead Engineer will modernize legacy systems onto a scalable, cloud-native architecture while ensuring accuracy and compliance. Collaboration with business analysts and cross-functional teams is essential to meet operational standards and enhance system reliability.

• 8+ years of hands-on Software Engineering experience
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
• Expert-level Python experience, including async patterns and performance optimization
• 5+ years of cloud-native development on AWS
• Experience supervising and guiding software development teams
• Demonstrated experience architecting highly available, distributed, event-driven systems
• Strong experience working with relational databases, SQL, and NoSQL data stores
• Proven track record delivering via Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams
• Experience in Financial Services, particularly portfolio performance calculations, is a plus

• Architect and lead the development of a high-throughput, event-driven performance calculation engine on AWS
• Drive the migration of the legacy performance reporting application stack onto a modern, cloud-native technology platform
• Design scalable distributed systems using Python, Apache Kafka, and AWS services
• Define and enforce data modeling standards and schema design for performance calculation use cases
• Establish observability, alerting, and runbook standards to ensure system reliability
• Lead Agile-based delivery including sprint planning and backlog refinement
• Mentor and lead a global team of engineers, providing feedback and fostering an inclusive culture
• Collaborate with business analysts to translate complex financial requirements into technical specifications
• Communicate technical trade-offs and roadmap recommendations to senior leadership
