Job description

The Software Development Engineer role at Amazon Kids involves creating and delivering innovative consumer software products for millions of customers. The team focuses on enhancing the Amazon Kids+ experience for parents and children across various devices. Engineers will tackle technical challenges and develop large-scale customer-facing web applications. Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive large-scale customer-facing web applications from inception to delivery and beyond
  • Solve technical challenges in web computing, back-end services, and algorithms
  • Invent, design, and build software that addresses day-to-day challenges faced by kids and their parents
  • Collaborate closely with leadership and product management stakeholders to design simple solutions
  • Maintain production software and identify pain points to drive team solutions
