Job description

Apple's US Decision Intelligence team is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to develop and implement AI solutions that significantly impact Apple Sales and its customers. The role requires strong software development skills and a focus on applying LLMs and agentic workflows to real-world business challenges. The ideal candidate will lead AI projects from inception to completion, ensuring the delivery of intelligent agents and optimized retrieval pipelines. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that values innovation and collaboration.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in machine learning, software engineering, or data science, with a recent focus on Applied AI and LLMs.
  • Proficiency in Python, including frameworks such as FastAPI and LangChain.
  • Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, embeddings, vector databases, and RAG workflows.
  • Experience with agent orchestration frameworks like LangGraph or Google ADK.
  • B.S. Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Build, test, and optimize intelligent agents and retrieval pipelines across sales data platforms.
  • Lead the development of AI projects from start to finish.
  • Design business-context layers that integrate structured data and unstructured knowledge.
  • Communicate results and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Balance rapid prototyping with production readiness for scalable enterprise features.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
