The Senior Cloud Engineer role at Apple focuses on leading complex cloud platform projects within the Wallet, Payments and Commerce Cloud Engineering team. The engineer will take ownership of significant pieces of the cloud platform and drive cross-functional solutions. • 8+ years of Cloud infrastructure and platform engineering experience with a track record of owning systems end-to-end in production.
• Experience building platforms and platform-as-a-product.
• Deep experience with Kubernetes and Containers.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, particularly with Crossplane and Terraform.
• Expertise in security-first architecture with Policy as Code.
• Public cloud expertise across AWS, GCP, and/or Azure.
• Experience with GitOps and CI/CD tools like Flux, Jenkins, and Kargo.
• Strong networking fundamentals including NATs, TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and mTLS.
• Knowledge of Linux internals and systems-level troubleshooting.
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with service meshes and observability stacks.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and drive technical direction.
