Job description

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to enhance its HPC infrastructure, focusing on building and operating sophisticated systems for business-critical services and AI applications. The role involves working with a team of skilled engineers dedicated to improving tools for infrastructure management. The ideal candidate will have strong software development skills and experience in creating reliable distributed systems. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in a diverse and innovative environment.

Requirements

  • Strong coding skills in at least two of Go, Java, C/C++, Scala, Python, or Elixir, with a focus on backend, systems, or infrastructure engineering.
  • Deep understanding of scalability, consistency, and performance trade-offs in server-side systems.
  • Experience owning services end-to-end, including architecture, implementation, testing, and observability.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Proficiency with modern CI/CD, GitOps workflows, and Infrastructure as Code practices.
  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience) with 5+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Apply modern distributed systems patterns to enhance scale, latency, and reliability.
  • Continuously improve infrastructure provisioning and operations using automation and APIs.
  • Operate in a globally distributed, hybrid multi-cloud environment, building cloud-native systems.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships and collaborate with various business units.
  • Improve uptime and Quality of Service (QoS) through data-driven operations and robust incident practices.
  • Participate in the team’s on-call rotation and lead high-impact incident response when necessary.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
