Job description

NVIDIA is seeking a highly skilled HPC Cluster Engineer to design, deploy, and operate GPU Compute Clusters for Electronic Design Automation and high-performance computing workloads. The role involves collaborating with researchers and infrastructure teams to ensure the GPU clusters are performant, scalable, and reliable. The engineer will also develop automation solutions and provide technical leadership for managing large-scale HPC systems. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact in a diverse and innovative environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience crafting and operating large scale compute infrastructure.
  • Experience with AI/HPC job schedulers and orchestrators, such as Slurm, LSF, PBS or K8s.
  • Proficient in using Linux including Rocky/Centos/RHEL and/or Ubuntu Linux distributions.
  • Proficiency in Python and Bash.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to analyze complex systems and identify bottlenecks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance the ecosystem around GPU-accelerated computing.
  • Continuously improve infrastructure provisioning, management, and observability through automation.
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic guidance for managing large-scale HPC systems.
  • Foster strong customer and multi-functional partnerships for consistent cluster support.
  • Support researchers in running EDA workloads, including performance analysis and optimizations.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and suggest corrective actions.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
