Job description

NVIDIA is seeking a Product Quality Engineer to join the Systems Product Quality team, focusing on system-level power debug for customer returns and field failures. This role involves leading technical failure analysis for data center systems and addressing customer-reported issues related to power delivery and sequencing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on debugging skills and a structured approach to root cause analysis. The position requires collaboration with various engineering teams to resolve critical issues and improve product quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in hardware debug, customer return analysis, field failure analysis, or power electronics support for complex electronic systems.
  • Strong understanding of system power delivery, DC-DC converters, multiphase VRs, regulators, and power sequencing.
  • Proven ability to debug power issues at system, board, and component level by reading schematics and test logs.
  • Experience with Linux systems, Linux shell scripts, and basic automation for data collection and debug efficiency.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent written and spoken English with strong documentation habits.

Responsibilities

  • Lead system-level power failure analysis for customer returns and field failures.
  • Confirm, reproduce, and isolate complex power failures such as no power and unexpected shutdowns.
  • Analyze system power architecture to determine the true failure boundary.
  • Use diagnostic tools to build fact-based debug conclusions.
  • Correlate field return data and customer logs to identify root causes.
  • Partner with various teams to resolve critical customer and field issues.
  • Drive containment, failure analysis, and corrective actions with clear ownership.
  • Create technical reports and quality updates that communicate failure mechanisms and next steps.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
