As a Software Development Engineer on Amazon's Advertising Technology team, you will design and build systems for real-time ad decisioning during live sports events. This role focuses on creating low-latency, high-throughput services that handle millions of concurrent viewers. You will collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to tackle complex challenges in advertising technology. The team is dedicated to revolutionizing live sports advertising and maximizing publisher revenue through innovative solutions.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- 1+ years of experience in designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, or distributed software applications
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Experience on highly concurrent, high throughput systems
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- Experience with streaming media, video infrastructure, or ad technology
- Understanding of programmatic advertising concepts
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain low-latency, high-availability services for real-time ad decisioning during live sports events
- Implement and improve programmatic auction and real-time bidding systems under strict SLA requirements
- Write high-quality, well-tested code and participate in code reviews
- Contribute to system design discussions, technical documentation, and architectural decisions
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues while participating in on-call rotations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management and data engineering
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, and operational efficiency
