Job description

The Insights Lead role at Apple focuses on extracting insights that bridge data and intelligence within the Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) organization. This position serves as the dedicated data strategist for the Employee Productivity & Support (EPS) Data Science team, ensuring that data informs decisions at the portfolio level. The ideal candidate will work closely with leadership to understand their strategic direction and translate business needs into actionable data analyses. Success in this role involves collaborating across teams and presenting findings to a range of stakeholders, from front-line managers to executive leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data science, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3+ years experience in SQL for modeling and analyzing data from large, multi-source datasets.
  • 2+ years experience in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years experience partnering with senior product leaders to translate business problems into analytical questions.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and quantitative reasoning.
  • Demonstrated experience with portfolio-level product analytics.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative or business field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with product analytics platforms, A/B testing frameworks, and clickstream data.
  • Experience working with product management processes.
  • Experience serving as a liaison between technical teams and business teams.
  • Familiarity with program or project management practices.
  • Proficiency in Python or R for exploratory analysis or scripting.
  • A track record of proactively surfacing insights.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and defining analytical approaches.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with leaders.
  • Experience with Gen AI tools and LLM.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the dedicated data strategist for IS&T Product.
  • Attend leadership meetings to absorb strategic direction.
  • Identify where data can accelerate product decisions or illuminate blind spots.
  • Review existing product dashboards and conduct deep-dive analyses.
  • Build new artifacts such as queries and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Help manage the analytical relationship for the Product group.
  • Prioritize requests and ensure the data science team understands business needs.
  • Present findings to stakeholders ranging from front-line managers to executive leadership.
