Job description

The Silicon Microarchitecture Engineer role at DeepMind focuses on developing custom silicon solutions that enhance Google's consumer products. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in RTL design using Verilog/System Verilog.
  • 5 years of experience in micro-architecture definition.
  • Experience in physical design is preferred.
  • Knowledge of high-performance and low-power architectures for ML acceleration is preferred.
  • Familiarity with transformer-based large language models is preferred.
  • Understanding of processor core SoC integration is preferred.
  • Knowledge of high level synthesis is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a fast and interdisciplinary team that includes experts from various fields.
  • Participate in the architecture, micro-architecture, and RTL design of high-performance machine learning accelerators.
  • Select and integrate in-house and third-party intellectual property.
  • Explore trade-offs of future architecture designs in terms of performance, power, energy, and area.
