The Senior Product Design Engineer role at Amazon Web Services focuses on designing and developing electrical distribution products and systems for data centers. • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in Electrical Product Design for Power Distribution Equipment or UPS
• Professional Engineering or Architectural License
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents

• Support the Data Center Design Engineering, Principal Engineering, and Hardware Engineering teams to design and develop innovative concepts into new products needed for power distribution.
• Lead new product design and development while working with internal teams to understand design requirements and solicit customer input.
• Collaborate with other disciplines such as mechanical and structural engineering, reliability, QA/QC, and compliance to create well thought out products.
• Create designs that meet or exceed quality requirements while delivering a return on investment.
• Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to specify appropriate electrical equipment, devices, and bill of materials.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal requirements and building codes across different countries.
• Prepare, review, and approve product design and drawings including electrical bill of materials, configuration, layouts, assembly, construction, and electrical wiring drawings.
• Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to and during manufacturing phases.
• Work with field engineering and commissioning teams to properly set up test processes and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical products.
• Lead international projects and develop engineering information packages as necessary.
