Job description

Amazon Prime Air is seeking a Product Support Engineering Service Engineer to enhance the reliability of drone operations within the fulfillment networks. This role involves collaborating with various engineering disciplines to drive continuous improvement and optimize system performance. The successful candidate will leverage data-driven insights to identify opportunities for system enhancements. Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts are essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume.
  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication abilities, including the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
  • Hands-on experience crafting proof-of-concept models and prototypes.
  • Experience with full product lifecycle management.
  • Proficiency in CATIA or similar CAD software.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate drone system performance for anomalies and deliver solutions to operations and maintenance teams.
  • Lead cross-functional system investigations to optimize drone system performance metrics.
  • Develop innovative hardware designs for emerging drone systems and improve existing hardware.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven insights.
  • Work with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality organizations to ensure smooth product launches.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for technical procedures.
  • Communicate effectively across all organizational levels, presenting strategies and results to senior leadership.
