As a member of the Manufacturing Design team at Apple, you will lead the development of quality processes for innovative parts. Your role will involve defining quality, metrology, and process requirements while contributing to the design of new manufacturing processes. You will work closely with tooling and functional teams to evaluate designs and processes, ensuring high-quality standards are met. This position requires a blend of engineering expertise and collaboration with various internal and external groups.

• 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience, supplier management, and quality control.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering such as Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing/Systems, or Chemical Engineering.
• Experience with mechanical enclosures, castings, plastic parts, injection molding, stamping, tooling, jigs, fixtures, or automotive high volume quality manufacturing engineering.
• Ability to travel internationally to supplier sites up to 30%.
• International experience, particularly in Asia, is a plus.

• Partner with tooling and functional teams to evaluate design and processes at the concept phase.
• Develop measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods that achieve ambitious specifications at substantial production scale.
• Develop and implement groundbreaking quality inspection tools to evaluate cosmetic and dimensional part characteristics.
• Compile and evaluate data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and part specifications.
• Lead activities to balance unparalleled quality with scalable yields.
• Collaborate with internal and external groups to ensure proper definition of quality expectations and appropriate assurance techniques are used.
• Coordinate and prioritize all Quality Engineering functions for multiple programs for team members.
• Continue to expand the capabilities of the team and recruit new engineers.
• Establish audit procedures appropriate to programs and suppliers to ensure alignment with Apple quality standards.
• Evaluate and communicate yields of new and existing processes.
• Drive corrective actions with internal and external team members.
