As a Product Security Engineer at Amazon Payments Security, you will play a vital role in safeguarding systems that manage financial transactions and customer data for millions of users. You will collaborate closely with application developers to promote best security practices and develop secure payment products. • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or experience in IT Security
• Experience with threat modeling and penetration testing
• Knowledge of security technology and concepts such as Authentication, Authorization, and Cryptography
• Experience in written and verbal communication skills to engage with technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience in scripting, programming, or security code reviewing in languages like Python, Java, or C++
• 2+ years of experience in application security frameworks, identity and access controls, incident response, or related fields
• Experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings
• 1+ year of experience in Secure SDLC

• Develop a broad and deep technical understanding of products and services within the Amazon Payments organization
• Conduct architecture reviews, threat modeling, and code reviews on various applications
• Interpret security tools and penetration testing results and provide advice on vulnerability remediation
• Create relevant documentation and metrics for stakeholders and business leaders
• Research and maintain proficiency in attacker tools and security topics
• Propose and develop materials to enhance security practices across the Payment Engineering organization
• Build and integrate innovative tools and processes to improve Payments Security operations
• Analyze logging and alerting infrastructure to ensure adequate coverage and response capability
• Evaluate the impact of current security trends and coordinate responses across affected teams
• Participate in security escalations support including on-call rotation
