Job description

The Product Engineering Specialist will join the Engineering team at Cummins Inc. in Troy, MI, focusing on driving high-quality product decisions and advancing projects efficiently. This role requires independent technical leadership and the ability to influence technical direction as a recognized specialist. The specialist will also be responsible for managing engineering processes and building team capability while ensuring compliance with customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.
  • Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.
  • Minimum of 4 years of full-time direct, practical experience is required.
  • Experience with off-highway/specialty vehicle products and systems is necessary.
  • Design experience with structural components like casting and forging is essential.
  • Excellent understanding of static analysis and fatigue analysis is required.
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with designing large castings is an advantage.

  • Establish configuration and change management discipline to maintain product baselines.
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation and communicate effectively across teams.
