Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Virginia, or obtainable within 6 months
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on bridge design
- Working knowledge of CAD systems, specifically MicroStation
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as MDX, LEAP Bridge, or Larsa
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for transportation highway projects
- Develop design documentation, calculations, specifications, and reports
- Inspect bridge designs as required
- Collaborate with team members on various bridge design projects
- Apply AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications to transportation structures
