The Product Design team within Apple Home Hardware is seeking a passionate mechanical engineer to lead the mechanical design and integration of components in intelligent home products. This role involves collaboration with various engineering disciplines to ensure designs meet functional and aesthetic standards. The engineer will take ownership of the hardware development process from concept through production. • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable field, or two or more years of equivalent mechanical engineering work experience.
• Strong mechanical engineering analytical skills and experience selecting materials and manufacturing processes based on engineering requirements.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and 2D engineering drawing creation.
• Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present technical concepts clearly.

• Own the mechanical design and integration of components and modules within a highly integrated electromechanical system.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design, and Manufacturing Design.
• Drive work from concept through validation and into production.
• Engage in early prototyping and design iteration to refine product designs.
• Develop skills across the full product development lifecycle.
