Job description

The Senior DSP Engineer will be a key member of the Amazon Leo Government team, focusing on the design and analysis of satellite and ground systems. This role involves developing DSP algorithms for phased array communication systems and collaborating with various engineering teams. The engineer will lead tasks from algorithm selection to FPGA implementation, ensuring solutions meet customer needs. The position requires strong technical skills and the ability to produce clear documentation and reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in hardware development across the full product life cycle
  • 7+ years of electrical engineering work experience in Space, Aerospace/Defense, Automotive, and/or Communications fields
  • 7+ years of experience with DSP algorithm development and hardware test system debugging
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance of TS/SCI

Responsibilities

  • Interact directly with customers to understand technical requirements and translate them into robust solutions.
  • Design and develop DSP algorithms for phased array antenna communication systems.
  • Develop and validate signal processing chains in MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Implement and optimize FFT/iFFT architectures for various applications.
  • Collaborate with RF engineers, antenna engineers, and systems engineers to define interface requirements.
  • Analyze system performance metrics and optimize DSP implementations.
  • Develop calibration algorithms for phased array systems.
  • Model and simulate RF impairments and develop mitigation techniques.
  • Perform trade studies on algorithm complexity and resource utilization.
  • Deliver well-written documentation and reports for technical design reviews.
