Job description

The role is part of Apple's Cloud Infrastructure Business Operations team, focusing on transforming how Apple plans and delivers its cloud resources and data centers. The position requires an experienced engineer to drive data and insights for infrastructure strategy. Collaboration with engineering, finance, procurement, and supply chain teams is essential to align strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies and a passion for AI.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in an engineering role with a track record of delivering complex initiatives end-to-end.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with compute containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong analytical foundation with proficiency in trending, variance analysis, and forecasting.
  • Deep familiarity with Kubernetes and optimization strategies for resource efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Drive data and insights on planning the strategy for Apple's infrastructure.
  • Research, architect, and drive complex technical solutions from prototype to production at scale.
  • Define architecture by influencing cross-functional and software development teams.
  • Design and deploy scalable, cloud-native architectures with a strong foundation in distributed systems.
  • Build Finance or FinOps subject areas, including unit economics and chargeback models.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
