Job description

As a Firmware Engineer on Apple's Human Interface Devices Bluetooth team, you will be integral in developing embedded firmware for next-generation Bluetooth accessory devices. The role involves working closely with multi-functional teams to bring innovative products to life. You will focus on designing reliable firmware, managing system communication, and enhancing user experience. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Apple's iconic technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in C/C++ for bare-metal and RTOS-based firmware development.
  • Experience with microcontrollers, sensors, and communication protocols such as UART, I2C, and SPI.
  • Strong experience with wireless protocols, ideally Bluetooth, and 32-bit microcontrollers.
  • Hands-on experience with embedded compilers, linkers, and low-level startup routines.
  • Proficient in firmware architecture and debugging tools such as JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Development experience on Unix/Linux/MacOS platforms.
  • Proven track record of solving complex problems in multi-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Bring up new sensors and processors from specification to production.
  • Design reliable firmware and solve complex system issues.
  • Define how different parts of the system communicate and manage power.
  • Collaborate closely with teams across Hardware, Software, Algorithms, and Quality.
  • Craft the performance, reliability, and user experience of Apple's products.
