Job description
Apple's US Decision Intelligence team is seeking an AI & Data Security Engineer to secure data across the AI lifecycle. This role focuses on implementing security measures for AI applications, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations, and collaborating with various teams to align data usage with enterprise policies. The engineer will also lead red team exercises to identify vulnerabilities and develop security standards for AI applications. The position requires a strong background in data security and a passion for AI solutions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience in data security, cybersecurity, security architecture, or data engineering with a primary focus on security.
- Proven hands-on experience designing and implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), row-level, and column-level security policies in modern cloud data platforms.
- Strong expertise in API security controls, authentication, and authorization protocols.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or similar languages used for scripting and automation.
- Solid understanding of data privacy regulations and experience translating these requirements into technical data governance.
- Experience implementing security logging, audit trails, and monitoring solutions.
- Direct experience securing AI/ML lifecycles or autonomous AI agents.
- Experience leading or participating in red team exercises or penetration testing.
- Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience building or deploying anomaly detection systems.
- Strong technical writing skills with a track record of creating developer guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Design and enforce row-level security policies and API-driven access controls across AI pipelines.
- Partner closely with Data Governance, Legal, and Engineering teams to align AI data usage with enterprise policy.
- Lead red team exercises to proactively identify vulnerabilities in AI systems.
- Own the development of security standards and guidelines for AI applications.
- Implement security logging, audit trails, and monitoring solutions to detect unauthorized access.
- Translate data privacy regulations into technical data governance and access controls.
- Build or deploy anomaly detection systems to identify malicious activity within data pipelines.
