Job description

The role is for a senior database engineer on the Amazon Redshift team, focusing on data warehousing and customer collaboration. Candidates will work on a rapidly growing cloud data warehouse service, solving complex problems and enhancing database computing. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • Experience in writing complex, highly-optimized SQL queries across large datasets.
  • Knowledge of overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance in a database environment.
  • Experience with large-scale data analytics and data warehousing.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of database or data warehouse systems internals.
  • Lead strategic data architecture and database design discussions with customers.
  • Drive and oversee workload analysis, performance benchmarking, and troubleshooting efforts with customers.
  • Clearly communicate deep technical topics to customers.
  • Influence the engineering team roadmap towards building a scalable and user-friendly product.
  • Conduct POCs with customers in competitive situations.
  • Leverage coding and scripting skills to automate tasks and improve workload analysis mechanisms.
