Job description

The Data Center Mechanical Engineer at Google will play a crucial role in overseeing the design, construction, and commissioning of HVAC and mechanical distribution systems for data centers. This position is part of the Data Center Engineering team, which focuses on innovative and efficient facility designs. The engineer will ensure compliance with codes and standards while providing technical guidance and support to vendor teams. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage complex mechanical systems within mission-critical environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
  • 5 years of experience in design, construction, and commissioning of HVAC and mechanical distribution systems.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical support to data center services and operations teams.
  • Develop, implement, and manage mechanical designs at the site level.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Engineer of Record to respond to site-specific engineering Requests for Information.
  • Own and manage site-level power system issues during project execution.
