The Regional Lead Data Center Electrical Engineer at Google Data Centers is responsible for providing expert technical support and leadership to on-site teams across North America. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with electrical designs and standards while advocating for continuous improvement in facility operations. The engineer will act as a technical subject matter expert, sharing best practices and lessons learned with cross-functional teams. The position requires a visionary approach to optimizing efficiencies and implementing innovative solutions in data center environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 12 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
- 12 years of experience in electrical design, operations, and commissioning of substations and emergency power systems.
- 5 years of experience in leadership roles.
- Experience in electrical infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical support and leadership to on-site DCS teams across North America.
- Represent DCS in the development and management of electrical designs at the site and regional portfolio level.
- Act as an escalation point for on-site engineers responding to engineering Requests for Information.
- Work closely with the core engineering team to provide site-specific requirements during the development of the Basis of Design.
- Provide leadership to on-site DCS engineers and general contractors to manage site-level power system issues.
