Job description
The Entry Level Hardware and Systems Engineer at IBM will be involved in designing, prototyping, and validating next-generation compute systems. Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Materials, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field is required.
- Experience with design of experiments (DOE) and/or project management is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with hardware design and CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Allegro is necessary.
- Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages, including Python, C/C++, or Bash, is required.
- Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize mechanical, thermal, and electrical components using CAD and EDA tools.
- Build and test hardware prototypes, performing debug and failure analysis.
- Model system-level thermal and mechanical performance to enhance efficiency.
- Create and utilize automation, firmware, and data analysis tools for hardware validation.
- Support process and materials development, manufacturing readiness, and equipment IT integration.
