Job description
The Electron Beam Product Engineer will join KLA's systems engineering team in Ann Arbor, Michigan, focusing on electron beam tools used in semiconductor metrology. This role involves coordinating tool operations and maintenance activities across multi-functional teams to ensure high performance and uptime. The engineer will also engage in troubleshooting complex tool issues and collaborate with a global engineering community. The position requires a strong emphasis on problem-solving and communication skills.
Requirements
- Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience or Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 2 years.
- Advanced degree in Physics, Optics, Electrical, Material Science, or Mechanical engineering is preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience operating and servicing vacuum systems.
- 5+ years' experience working in a clean room.
- Comfortable with Python scripting, Matlab, and statistics packages such as JMP.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the KLA global tool user community to ensure local tools are available for engineers worldwide during their work shifts.
- Troubleshoot and maintain semiconductor metrology and review tools to maintain both tool performance and uptime at high levels.
- Complete critical tool performance calibrations, specification validation, and periodic preventative maintenance.
- Monitor local and remote tool performance and uptime and lead efforts to quickly solve problems.
- Perform detailed investigation into the root cause of tool failures through a structured problem-solving process.
- Author clear and concise summaries of test results to share lessons learned with the technical community.
- Collaborate with the global KLA engineering community to find solutions to problems on candidate's tools.
- Work in an ISO Class 5 clean room.
- Travel may be required for initial training over a two-month period.
