The Fleet Remediation Project Design Electrical Engineer will lead design projects in operational data centers, focusing on upgrading existing infrastructure and adding new services. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure safety, security, and efficiency in AWS data centers. The engineer will provide lifecycle support from design through implementation, utilizing their electrical expertise to enhance capacity and sustainability. The position offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects at a hyper-scale within a diverse and inclusive team environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
- Knowledge of commercial or industrial power systems or mechanical systems
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
- Experience using a variety of web-based and other software tools for calculation and data processing
Responsibilities
- Own the design for existing data center upgrades and design solutions that add infrastructure, improve availability, and increase sustainability.
- Perform design and equipment submittal review for Data Centers in your region.
- Interface with internal and external data center design engineering teams, server hardware teams, and other stakeholders to promote standards.
- Act as a technical subject matter expert during new remediation projects.
- Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover of projects.
- Prepare and present progress reports to all relevant stakeholders.
- Manage design and as-built drawings and documents.
