Job description

The Software Development Engineer role at Prime Video focuses on building an AI-powered creative production platform for a major entertainment studio. This position involves collaborating with engineers, product managers, and scientists to develop a browser-based creative editor that supports complex workflows. The team aims to enhance the customer experience through innovative technology and high-performance applications. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that redefine operational landscapes using artificial intelligence.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS experience
  • 1+ years of computer science fundamentals experience, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
  • Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as Angular and React
  • 1+ years of agile software development methodology experience
  • Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node

Responsibilities

  • Design and build a high-performance, browser-based creative editor with multi-layer canvas compositing and real-time image manipulation.
  • Architect and optimize rendering pipelines for complex layer stacks, handling high-resolution assets and non-destructive editing.
  • Integrate AI/ML model outputs into interactive UI workflows to enable users to generate and edit visual content.
  • Implement production file export capabilities and asset management features for downstream creative teams.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers, applied scientists, and product managers to deliver on the product roadmap.
  • Own performance, reliability, and quality of the frontend platform by profiling and optimizing the application.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design reviews and architectural decisions.

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
