The role is for a highly-skilled software engineer to join the RDS Telemetry Platform team at AWS, focusing on improving relational database operations. The team builds infrastructure for collecting and analyzing database telemetry, utilizing both traditional and generative-AI techniques. This position involves developing solutions that help customers optimize database performance and security. Candidates will tackle engineering challenges in distributed systems at scale while ensuring operational excellence.

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of programming using a modern programming language such as Java, C++, or C#
• 1+ years of contributing to new and current systems architecture and design experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
• Knowledge of Machine Learning and LLM fundamentals
• Experience in debugging, profiling, and implementing software engineering best practices in large-scale systems

• Develop a product that captures and stores telemetry from Aurora and RDS databases.
• Explore and build innovative solutions leveraging telemetry to help customers troubleshoot and optimize database performance.
• Detect security threats through timely and relevant metrics and recommendations.
• Take ownership of the operational excellence of the service.
• Collaborate with the team to resolve ambiguity and innovate on behalf of customers.
